That’s why people generally default to combo- it’s a way to put a timer on how long you have to police the whole table before you can win. So eventually, you gotta set up ways to win the game. But if you don’t, you won’t have enough cards to really stop 3 other players for very long. The big problem with this is that it’s expensive to try and answer every threat this way. He can be really effective in this role, letting you toolbox for outs to the other decks at the table. This is why people usually lean into control with Tasigur- he’s at his best when he can buy back your answers (which are usually not permanents) at instant speed, and play politics to get back the cards you need to counter certain problems. Something like ] will often perform better for a grindy value shell. If you want to have graveyard recursion/value for permanents, options like ] stand out. So, you have to decide why you want to run him, if it’s not that. People run him in cEDH since he’s able to win once you go infinite. He doesn’t do anything especially synergistic or explosive, he mostly just has a decent body for the cost and buys back value cards. That’s the thing about Tasigur- he doesn’t really have heavy buildaround potential.
